House Doctor: Lifestyle design from Scandinavia
The Danish lifestyle brand House Doctor is known for its minimalist and elegant designs. This minimalism is not only closely linked to the Scandinavian design tradition, but also emphasises the high-quality materials and special shapes.
House Doctor: Collections
RusticRustic tableware
The Rustic tableware series is one of the brand’s most popular collections. House Doctor has created rustic tableware for every day with this line in shades of grey. The mottled look and curved edges give the pieces a natural and cosy appearance. Our favourite is the 5-piece sushi set.
PionTableware with a handmade look
If you like things a little quieter, then this collection is ideal for you. In the Pion tableware series, you can choose between pieces in cream or black and blue. From cups to pasta plates, everything is included. The calm yet homely effect is not only created by the muted colours, but also by the deliberately imperfect and rustic texture.
House Doctor: What makes the Scandinavian brand so special
Founded in 2001, House Doctor designs high-quality decorative and lifestyle products. Today, the company is part of the Society of Lifestyle Group, which also includes Nicolas Vahé, meraki and Monograph. The range includes crockery, decorative elements, textiles and some pieces of furniture.
Glass, earthenware and ceramics are frequently used. The colour scheme is muted and often dark. Although this contradicts what we know from classic Scandinavian design, it is widespread in the modern Nordic style. These dark elements can set special accents. But light-coloured wood and copper are also used in House Doctor designs. This creates special pieces that are ideal as eye-catchers.
The most popular products include designer crockery, storage boxes, candle holders of all kinds, cushion covers, flower pots and vases. But House Doctor also designs unusual lamps, lanterns and fairy lights. The reduced but characteristic shapes of the pieces are a special feature.
